Our dedication to sustainable bags manufacturing
Our factory upholds the highest ethical and environmental standards; we undergo annual inspections by independent third-party auditors to ensure that our bags are produced under legal, humane, and ethical conditions.
Recycling is an important pillar of our sustainability strategy, serving to minimize the environmental impact of manufacturing our bags. We are also committed to sourcing materials that protect the environment and are more sustainable—such as fabrics made from recycled and plant-based materials, or leather with minimal environmental impact.
The bluesign® system is based on minimizing the environmental impact during the entire production process. All substances and raw materials used in production are tested before production begins. Across the company, we currently source all our fabrics from bluesign® system partners and therefore from suppliers who further reduce their emissions to air and water and have an environmental management system in place.
Since 2014, we have only used PFC-free impregnations to make our outer fabrics water-repellent. PFCs (per- and polyfluorinated chemicals) or PFAS (per- and polyfluorinated alkyl substances) are a very large group of chemicals that do not occur in nature and are not biodegradable. Due to their water-repellent properties, these harmful chemicals are often used in the textile industry, especially for luggage & bags products, and are released into the environment via air and water.
All of our packaging is sized for the product and originates from certified FSC sources. It is fully recyclable, compostable and uses water-based inks, which are all better for the planet.
